The vase pattern originates from 17th-century Safavid Kirman workshops: large palmettes rising from a vase symbolize a vertical paradise garden. Afghan artisans combine this heritage with the 19th-century Sultanabad revival palette of Ziegler merchants; the wool is treated for weeks with natural mordants, dyed with plant extracts, and washed in sun and stream to achieve a faded patina.

The inner border features a small floral stripe on a walnut background, while the outer border has a meander floral frieze on an ivory background. The turquoise ground shifts to emerald green and Aegean blue depending on the light angle, creating a sense of depth in the corridor.
